Favorite TV Show as a Kid

I'm currently watching season 4 of Emergency on DVD, loved that one as a kid.
Just remembered "Medical Center" starring Chad Everett, that ran from 69-76!

Anybody remember The Chicago Teddy Bears? It was a period comedy set in Chicago in the 1920s. Dean Jones and John Banner were the biggest names in a fairly big cast.

Even though I don't recall lots of exterior shots, there was a Sunday Section-type spread published with pictures and descriptions of the various characters' cars. It was the first nighttime show that I doted on bigtime and I was so disappointed when it was canceled after half a season. The first such experience of many....

I still watch Burns & Allen, and downloaded lots of their radio stuff too ! Like the Twilight Zone, and Alfred Hitchcock too...... Love AntennaTV Network ! It's great that there is enough interest in those older shows to sustain a few networks with that great content....

You can stream many of these shows on www.hulu.com for free. I bought a pc to tv converter, hooked that to a rf modulator, then to my
Blonder Tongue Agile Modulator . Now I can broadcast to any anolog tv in the house. Works great.

pc to tv converter....? What's that like SVGA plug to those 3 colored RCA jacks on a lot of tvs, VCR's and DVD players have...? Is this on ebay? What brand and model did you get, and how would you rate it??? I have watched a few Rockford Files on hulu, but not much.... I would, though if I could get it on to a tv screen.... Thanks....

I use the a/v modulator just so I can get from 3 RCA plugs to coaxial cable for input on the agile modulator. On rf out of agile modulator I split the signal and went to broadcast antenne and coaxial directly into my home tv coax network. So if I turn off my digital converer box on any of my anolog tvs and turn tv to whatever channel I program agile modulator to (mines on channel 2), I can pick up the computer stream either off cable network or rabbit ears.
All you really need is the tv to pc converter if you don't mind running wires from computer to tv. I hope this makes sense, I'm not the best at explaining what I mean sometimes.

Thanks Paul ! I see from the model you posted, that it takes the sound output from the computer speakers, and the converter sends that to the rca jacks. Saving one set of cables.... From that I can run those three rca wires over to one of the tv's that has those inputs, or a VCR/DVD player with those plugs, and then to my tv via the rf jacks I use regularly.....

Well I'm sure you did not intend to spark up a mini-thread on those converters, but I thank you for it, I was unaware of such a device, and am now quite interested..... I had found those small devices in a CL ad locally that would play hulu on your old tv, but you needed a subscription to use those boxes.... But hulu allows you to watch for free on a desktop, or laptop computer, so when I'm really, really really board and there is absolutely nothing I'm willing to sit through on tv, I use to do a Rockford, or Magnum on the laptop, or imac desktop..... This little converter has me interested in possibly watching some hulu on a real tv.....

Anybody else remember the 1970-71 Saturday morning-Really, more like Saturday AFTERNOON-offering, "Tomfoolery "? It was a Rankin-Bass offering, a sort of "Stream-Of-Conciousness" kiddie show, that appealed to kids like me who were kinda "Weird", I guess... IIRC, it came on Sat afternoon, 1-1.30 PM, & was often kicked off by Phootbawl, which is sort of a RELIGION down here in the South..

At least the Odd Couple could be watched by both children and elders together. Two and a half twits is not meant for children to watch. No moral values.

Felix and Oscar was a clean, funny show that also taught values, even just the value of a very good friend.

Some older desktop towers (which you can get dirt cheap if you look) support and or come stock with video cards that have VGA, Composite, and S-video outputs. I have a 2002 HP that I trash picked that has all of those outputs and can run all of them at once when ran in dual monitor mode (The S-video and component show the same thing but ARE both active).
It was a pretty decent media viewer duty PC for me until the USB system started crapping out intermittently and giving me the blue screen of death. At some point I'm going to try to fix that and or get a new mother board of that generation so I can use that unit again.

i liked watching when i was growing up in the 70's pretty much what they show on Metv now star trek with kirk and spock, the monkey's bugs bunny on sat. morning . there was only 3 stations and pbs stuff like dr who ,montypython fliying circus was on at night ,or we sometimes could pickup chicago station 9 & 32 ,from our 50 foot tower with a bedspring type ant. on it. i had about 20 tv's in my bedroom in different stages of being apart and being worked on, or modifying i had a small path to my bed ,it drove my mother nuts she wouldnt even go into my room most of the time ,she hated solder in the shag carpet and small screws [lol ] i would pickup any peace electronics and drag it into my room ,i built a full size robot once when i was 13 yrs old that could move around remotely mom thought that was cool girls dint though .

I really liked Three's Company. What 12 year old boy didn't like "jiggle tv". LOL. That is until the Dukes of Hazzard came out. Still some jiggle, coulpled with the best looking car of the musle car era and lots of action.

I didn't know what color the General Lee was for the first season as I had to watch it in my room on my 12 inch b&w set. When it moved to the 8 pm timeslot for season two, I got to see it in color in the living room. Then my mom would watch Dallas.
