I guess shows like this-And Springer- are there for the rest of us, when we're feeling sorry for ourselves, to watch & say, "Well, my life IS Shit, but at least I'm NOT as bad off as THOSE fool-azzes are..."

LOL.....I remember Springer, but from WAY back when this was a very odd show and was actually pretty funny.

They would do all this stupid stuff like invite ALL the ex girlfriends to a big feast on a big long table......and of course right in the middle of the table was a big huge whole fish, a big messy cake, a bunch of pies and a big 'ol basket of blueberries...and NO plates or silverware. You just sit there watching and waiting for the innevitable moment one girl grabs the big fish by the tail to swing it at some other girl :-P

Back when you watched each one just waiting for a brawl to break out....maybe late '80s ??

That Jerry Springer show USED to stand out and get your attention....because I think that was sort of the beginning of that silliness. Now I guess you can play hookie from work and watch like twenty different weird things like this all afternoon. I was sad to see that Maury Pouvich (spelling?) has turned to some sort of paternity testing and lie detector show. He used to present some pretty good social topics with "valid" guests. I guess daytime TV now just caters to the unemployed. It's actually quite hard to find something intelligent to watch during a weekday afternoon if you are home sick.

What does 4g even mean? i think people just like bigger numbers
also hip-hop/RAPCRAP more like RATCRAP

Hehehehehe...Kinda glad to see that I'm NOT the only reactionary fussbudget stinkpot touchhole who ISN'T wowed by all the shibboleths of Our Moderne Culture... There was another show I watched a time or 2-"Big Rich Texas", in which impossibly rich, yet terminably unhappy Texas housewives stood around & whined, bitched, & complained about how TERRIBLE their lives were...I feel most of us here could prolly live quite HAPPILY for QUITE a while off of what one of these maladjusted slags spends at the Beauty Salon in a couple of months...I thought they were pretty terrific looking gals, they looked to be 35-50 or thereabouts, but were all still pretty much tryin' to pass for 18-25...They, to me, are much WORSE than the Springer/Honey Boo-Boo set, these people were supposed to be the Creme De La Creme, w/all their money, power, connections, & education, yet they were nearly as base & vile as the "Po White Trash" types...No, they were WORSE than the Honey Boo-Boo set, these people SHOULD have known better...

I love the fact that South Park had a field day over them and that pathetic show.

Well Sandy, I guess the Beverly Hillbillies is looking pretty good to you now?

They are light years classier than Honey Poo Poo.

Aww, Man ! If we'd only known...There were a LOT of people who would have kicked Paul Henning's butt from here to Callyfornee 'n' back over the "Hillbillies"...But they were absolute SAINTS in comparison to Honey Boo-Boo & Co...There was a LOT to admire in the Clampetts...They were basically kind, nice people-C'mon, don't YOU wish you had an uncle like Jed was ? But there is NOTHING about Honey Boo-Boo I wanna be like...

Here's just a taste in cartoon form courtesy of South Park. The real deal is much worse

Hmmm, maybe you're on to something there. I've wondered the same thing.

Let us be mindful of the purpose things like “Honey Boo Boo”, “Springer”, and some others may actually be serving… anyone remember the movie “Independence Day”? The aliens determined that there was intelligent life on this planet by monitoring our satellite transmissions. Should they monitor “Honey Boo Boo”, “Springer”, et al, the thinking is undoubtedly that the aliens will realize otherwise and determine Earth isn’t worth the trip.

It’s much better to fight an unknown enemy having unknown weapons with the weapons you have than the weapons you’ll never develop.
