If you had Any Doubt...
...That our civilisation is on a 4-G power dive into Oblivion, that the Apocalypse is CERTAINLY upon us, the Balloon is about to Ascend on High, then watch-If you dare- "Honey Boo Boo Child", sit back & wait for the fast-approaching End. It makes "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" seem positively intellectual by comparison. "Jerry Springer" is high-brow entertainment. I apologise to all the Hip-Hop/rapcrap acts I have slandered over the years, gentlemen, you are ERUDITE. All Jeremy Clarkson's diatribes against us colonials are TRUE. Just watch a YouTube video clip & see if you don't agree...

Ah, yes...a television show about trailer-trash. Now that's entertainment!

I've heard about this show beyond snippets and have no interest in seeing it, where is child protective services when you need them? If this isn't exploiting a child I don't know what is.
How do they Copyright this show, does the term "Intellectual Property" even apply here? Seems like the perfect show for Wal-Mart to sponsor. |

Honey Boo-Boo will likely be squeezin' out puppies on her own in about 10 years, & the sad cycle continues...Typically, the people who tend to be attracted to these "Toddlers 'n' Tiaras" crap are the types who can afford it the LEAST...I knew a kid at work who was whole-hog into this...He was a janitor at the plant where I worked, he made little better than burgerflipper wages, yet would take off Thurs-Sunday, he & his wife would drag their l'il dumplin' ALL OVER to these Gala Events. They were EXPENSIVE, too, like $1k-1500 for one. I don't know how they afforded it-The wife didn't work. But I wasted all my money on old radios, TVs, guns, cars & coins, so I can REALLY talk, I guess..

Sandy.... I swore I would never watch it, as the commercials for it disgusted me. I flipped on TLC when they were having a marathon, and it sucked me in like a bad train wreck. Before I knew it, 3 hours had passed, and I was staring at the screen in slack-jawed amazement......

The name alone makes me not even wanna GLANCE at it.....But I watch boring factual stuff. Saw some thing last night where they crashed a Boeing 727-200 (retired), just for the LAWLS and to get the crash data from dummies and cameras...then a Mythbusters where they tested if the girl floating on that door from the Titanic (in the movie)...would have survived. Also, how fast that Caprio guy would turn into an Otter Pop hanging in the water like that :-P

I DVR'ed the 727 crash..THAT was pretty neat... I'm surprised they didn't try to do it to a 747, or one of the more modern planes.

Nawwww.....Glad they did this with a broadly retired aircraft. My only concern was exactly the problem that DID present itself....The stall speed of an aircraft with the 727's odd center of gravity (engines in back..CANNOT fly slow), and the top speed of a Cessna Skymaster. These were not at all wise choices in aircraft that had to stay within range of a little Futaba style RC controller.
The Mythbusters thing...was simply on after that. I have a bad habit of falling asleep to the TV....so this Mythbuster thing was JUST interesting enough to be interesting, but not so much I was upset to fall asleep sometime during. The "regular" TV in the bedroom is a 23" Sammy LED set....with a sleep timer :-P

Uhh, yeah...Anybody who knows anything about flying knows that most of these little piston-engines prop planes just DON'T fly fast enuff to keep up w/a jet...And why they chose an APPARENT fixed-gear Pushme-Pullyu Skymaster is even more puzzling..The retractable models are somewhat faster. The disparity in flight speeds was was helped sell KC-135 tankers, initially... The prop tankers the Air Force had were fine for B-17s, B-29s, B-50s, but when the B-47s & B-52s came on line, the top speed of the prop tankers was just about the same as stall speeds on the jets...Not a good combination when you have one aircraft full of volatile avgas, & the other possibly full of bombs, maybe even nukes... The AF soon wised up & bought KC-135s, which are still used today, 50 odd years later.

Whatever this "Honey Boo Boo" thing is, I have never even heard of it, and I am very thankful for that, after reading the comments here. I probably never heard of it because I only use an antenna for TV programming. Sandy, I thank you for providing me with another reason to not even THINK of subscribing to a pay-TV service.

I pretty much HAVE to have cable....or succumb to the silly dish thing and join all the friends that moan about whatever stupid thing DirectTV did to their lineup lately. COX cable has been generally cooperative and stable for the 20 years or so I been on it. In San Diego.....using an antenna pretty much means watching everything in Spanish...especially in a flat where you can't be that creative with an antenna.
I watch almost ZERO programming on the major networks....just the Discovery, TLC and History sorta stuff I can't really watch without "extended basic" cable. I'm not the sort to sit around watching sports on Sunday. I'm more likely at a local racetrack doing hotlaps with friends who also don't do the American wannabe sports thing every Sunday.

JUST saw last night on some other show just who or WHAT this "honey boo boo" thing is. That squashy little girl with the foul mouth and extremely contrived (rehearsed) precocious behavior?? Dunno what show I saw her on. Likely one of the gossip things that came on after The Big Bang Theory. Saw this (not so) little girl WADDLING up to TRY and get up on a barstool for some sort of intervue. As soon as they showed her face turning around like Linda blair to face the audience, I let out a Chris Tucker "Oh HALE NO!!".... and IMMEDIATELY turned the channel to something less disturbing (Likely the Nails-on-a-Chalkboard Network)
Is this now some sort of modern poster child ? NO....will NOT be watching that, whatever or wherever it is. We are now not far at all from "OW! My BALLS!" show that you see on the movie IDIOCRACY

Those shows are also focusing on her moo-cow mother who weighs in close to 350# and is proud of it.
