Hi! to All,
My modest contribution to the ETF convention photo coverage: Here, a pot-pourri of snapshots, TVs for sale, technical demos, some of the Museum's collections, portraits of convention-goers, etc. http://s281.photobucket.com/albums/k...phen/ETF-2009/ And here, the upload of the complete, commented presentation of the vintage CRT rebuilding process at RACS in France. http://s281.photobucket.com/albums/k...RACS%20France/ PS: not quite finished, 8 out of 12 subsections uploaded. Will be finished over the weekend. Best Regards jhalphen Paris/France |

Thanks! You took some great pics! You even got one of my Motorola 16" console set before I moved it to the van, the electrostatic Moto I won too. I meant to take pictures but didn't. But what? No pictures of me with my long hippy hair??
Oh wait, I have one of Steve D and myself, too bad I smiled after the flash. Trust me, I was happy as a pig in sh*t at the convention!..

You're welcome, Eckhard. I'll look and see if I have anymore good ones to post. I took three times as many last year, this year I was too busy talking.

This is a replica of a neon lamp with LEDs for a mechanical television receiver with a Nipkow disk.

You can see my LED arrays in operation here:
http://www.tech-retro.com/Aurora_Design/LED_Arrays.html The original neon lamps are getting very hard to find and very expensive for the mechanical sets. |

I am still on the road on business, but before I left Ohio I gave Steve McVoy a ton of photos as usual. He'll need some time to sort through and post some. I'll also forward them to Dave Sica in case he wants to post a different selection, after I get home.
Here to whet your appetite is a shot of Cliff Benham's color bars on a CBS color wheel and a 2-color color wheel. Source for the 3-color is NTSC converted to field sequential in Darryl Hock's converter. Cliff built the wheels, motor controls/sync and 2-color circuits. Also notice the three-color waveform monitor made by viewing a white-phosphor scope through the wheel. lower left. Cliff's stuff is amazing to see. Yep, the CBS wheel he made is the best one I have ever seen, no flicker. Just a PERFECT color picture, the scope is way cool too. I grabbed a few really good pics of it running. Well done Cliff!
