Great movie, and I'm an old fart. I can relate to that character too. I work with a lot of young kids.
The Runaways. Yeah, it was a great movie.

Gangs of New York. I had never seen it. Good movie, kind of like A Clock Work Orange with grownups doing the fighting.

Just watched a couple of great flicks:

"Renaissance"

"In 2054, Paris is a labyrinth where all movement is monitored and recorded. Casting a shadow over everything is the city's largest company, Avalon, which insinuates itself into every aspect of contemporary life to sell its primary export -- youth and beauty. In this world of stark contrasts and rigid laws the populace is kept in line and accounted for."

"Sukiyaki Western Django"

"A revolver-wielding stranger crosses paths with two warring clans who are both on the hunt for a hidden treasure in a remote western town. Knowing his services are valuable to either side, he offers himself to the clan who will offer up the largest share of the wealth."

Coraline

I liked it a lot, but it is a PG movie so don’t take younger kids that scare easy.

The International

OK, but I'd never say it was great. My wife was pretty disappointed. Nothing really grabbed either of us while watching it, despite this being a Clive Owen film.
"Children of Men" was 10 times better.

My wife and I saw The International yesterday. Action / thriller. Not great but we both enjoyed it enough to give it a mild recommendation.

Coraline with the kids last weekend. Was really surprised what Tim Burton did with this one cause I did not like Nightmare before Christmas that much. I give it

Hotel for Dogs. This was one of the funniest movies that I have seen lately. It did not hurt that there was one of those women, who had the kind of laugh that made you laugh, in the front of the theater. Kids absolutely loved it !!!

:

Totally agree with you on this movie. Watched it twice and bought the book. The book is only 160 pages. Just wanted to let you know, Tim Burton isn't credited with anything that I have seen so far on this.

Zach and Miri Make a Porno. Pretty funny overall as I had no idea what it was about. A friend had lent it to me and certainly had a few laughs.
