RCA 9" Color
Found this little set today for $10.
It's missing the cover for the tuner controls and the antenna. Also missing is the model number plate from the back. Anyone know what model this is and what year? |

Eric,
I'm curious. Why would you spend $10.00 on something like that? |

I had two of those back in the 80's. Great set for the kitchen table and office and unique way of tuning the UHF. I only got about 5 years heavy use out of each. The flyback went bad in both sets and the service center told me it was a common problem with the sets. If I remember correctly the service center couldn't get a replacement flyback. There was a cover that snapped over the right side tuning knob and hid all the adjustments. There also was a set of UHF channel numbers that slid into the tuning dial for the presets. The televisions are long gone but I thought I still had the manuals and preset numbers. If I ever find them there yours.

Was the little red heart below the volume control an option that year?

Seemed like a good idea at the time. It's been so long since I found something "in the wild" that I just couldn't resist. Quote:

That was the first thing I removed.
