No color on late 1970's RCA's
I've got several late 1970's/early 1980's RCA's, portables and consoles, chassis CTC-86 to 101, that have problems with either no color, or that color will only appear when the fine tuning is tuned off the channel, or unstable color. These sets appear to use a single IC for chroma. Has there been a documented common problem on these with chroma? Thank you.

It's been a while, but I seem to remember seeing a lot with cracked metal end clamps on the 3.58MHz osc trimmer cap. It's a tubular trimmer cap.

I agree. its a tall slender trimmer cap.
Sometimes you can get by with adjusting them. Doug |

there should be a tp to ground to kill the burst.
then you adjust for as few bars as possible. i changed a few of those trimmers too but many just drifted due to dirt and nicotene film.
