Video 2000

I finally got a Video 2000 player yesterday. Got it from a friend who worked at a Philips dealer when V2000 was released. This is a VR2020, the first model. It´s just basic, it has no still or picture search functions. I got one tape for it, so i hooked it up, and it worked great from the first second. It´s extremely well built. It weighs close to 20 kilos i think, and has a power consumption of 75 watts. Actually, the threading system is driven by metal wires! It´s not the quickest operating video recorder i have used, but it doesn´t really matter with no "fancy" functions. but it´s unbeliveably silent. You can barely hear when it´s running. I think it will be great together with my Philips K11 or K12 TV.

That's a nice one. I've been looking around for an NTSC Video 2000, but I don't think they were ever exported to the U.S. They were a neat tape format.
