RCA CTC-25 Trash find, but didn't pick up

I haven't seen many tube-type sets at the curb lately, in fact probably fewer than 5 in the past 5 years. But today, Nancy and I were driving through a newer part of Northridge, CA, and saw a CTC-25 console in the trash! It was a surprise, because that whole neighborhood wasn't built until the late 70s. This set was a 23" rectangular console with dual speakers, and the CTC-25 chassis with the hated single-knob UHF-VHF tuner. The CRT was busted, so I left the set there. It was in the 11400 block of Porter Valley Drive on the East side of the street. But I think Monday is trash day, so it likely will be gone. But that's where it is if any locals would like to go get it (if still there)... That's a block or 2 North of Rinaldi St, and between Reseda Bl and Tampa Avenue off the 118 Ronald Reagan Freeway.

The main point of this post is that we can't give up hope on cool trash finds... 2 years ago, I found a 16" round tube RCA B&W 1950 set in that same neighborhood, and Dr. Dan picked up a '54 Admiral at a garage sale there for $5 today. So the sets are still out there, just not so easy to find anymore.

Darn, Too late and too far away, Ive been looking for a CTC 25 chassis for my little CTC 25 console with a missing chassis. Maybe I will come across one around here someday.
