RCA TV <> Tricolor Picture Tube 1953 Symposium Book

Seems a tad pricey to me but maybe someone here is interested?

Years ago (1990 I think), I ran across a book in the "stacks" section of the University of Oklahoma's library that was what RCA submitted to the FCC in 1953 for the approval of dot-sequential compatible color. Fascinating read it was. Had photos and build details of I think four or five tri-kinescope sets, and then four or five single-CRT color kinescope sets. Also had the details of how the triniscope (single color CRT) was built too. I remember one or two of the single CRT sets had two chassis in a model-five style cabinet. Eventually they got it down to a single chassis, and made a couple more models after that. I don't know if the Model 5 was part of that document, since I didn't even know about the CT100 at that time. I was still cutting my teeth on AA-5 radios at that point. If anyone is near OKC, go and check it out. Hopefully it still exists in the old Stacks section.

Eric,
RCA color publications like this and the FCC submission usually get bid up farther than I'm willing to go - this one wasn't in the TV section, maybe why no one saw it except you, for posting of which I thank you. Yes, pricey, but I swallowed hard and got it.

The "Equipment and Parts for Manufacturing" section should be interesting.

Well I'm glad you got it! I didn't know if it was a good deal or not.

Perhaps this would be of interest too?

Actually, the Model 5 is pictured and not the CT-100. Wonder if the cover and title page have 'CT-100' in the title.

Hard telling what you are going to get.If it's good I'm sure you'll share it with all of us at the next ETF Convention with the exception, maybe, of Pete D.

Lets try that again...
Phil,

My thanks to Pete D who gave me the heads up on it. Or at least I know who to blame if it turns out to be a lemon!

We've gotta thank Eric for finding it first

And Phil, you mean you're actually going to show up this time?
