This may actually be ctc-30 as it has the motorized tuning, strip channel display and channel knobs behind panel.

It sure is a sweet set. I hope somebody here wants the set. It is too far for at the current gas prices. Where is DRH4683? Maybe he will go for it.

Yes, I will go for this one. Elk grove is about 1/2 hour from me. This set looks really nice. Never had a 28/30, but always liked this design. The cabinet is exactly what I look for in sets of this vintage. I pretty much stay with plain or danish modern cabinets. Thanks for posting this. Like I really need another set though...........

The phonograph
It just occured to me, is the phonograph original to this unit? Click on the supersized immage of it. I dont know these good enough to know if this is correct or not. Wasnt RCA still using that chrome oval shaped stablizer arm in '67-'69?

This looks like the type of turntable I usually see in late 60's RCA's. This is the deluxe model with variable speed adjustment and stroboscope. I think the last years for the oval shaped stabilizer arm were 64 or so. The stereo receiver is probably transistorized.

So much for the hopes of preserving this set and restoring it....Im sure the high bidder will gut out the cabinet and retrofit an LCD in there. Another MINT TV goes to hell.............

That price is wild! We bought our CTC-30 in "Chinese Black Lacquer cabinet" for $10.00 not a year ago.
This reminds of someone who gave us a complete CTC-17 chassis and black matrix 23VALP22 CRT and CRT bezel that they had dissasembled to build the cabinet into something for a modern TV. It was very carefully disassembled, they even gave us the original literature. |

It is possible that the set will be restored. One can hope, at least. |
