Sony Wega KV27FS120 -Not so hot

bought this set last july, used it and disliked the picture(no dc resto., it seemed) and started using a chromacolor instead. I now put it back into use today and use it for a laptop monitor, through the rgb component inputs. Ah, I still have issues even after a thorough half hour service menu playing... Also a magnavox dvd recorder model MRV640, pretty decent unit, and the scientific atlanta 220 DTV box

Dude, I bought a 24" Wega new and it sucked so bad I made the store pick it up and got a Toshiba instead. I was so mad at how crappy the Sony was right out of the box. Looked on e-opinion and saw others had the same problem.

Sad but 100% true. I picked up a 2003 Sony 24" Wega at the curb a couple weeks ago, and I haven't fooled with it yet. But I can guess it's FBT, H.Output, regulator, etc etc.

The last GREAT Sonys were probably the Profeel monitors of the early 80s, and the last GOOD ones probably the KV-xxXBR10 series of the early 90s. The slave labor-made cheapies showed up by the mid 90s, starting with that KV-27TS27 with the power supply as reliable as the Los Angeles City Board of Supervisors.
