My favorite drama show is "the Shield" on FX

This show is pimp as hell. I have watched every episode of this show and can't get enough. Now Im not the typical TV junkie. My normal viewing is the discovery channel and history channel and national geographic. yeah call me a dork, but I like to learn shit.

How ever, I love the shield. I can't really even say why exactly, but I do. And I was pissed how the season finale ended this year. I like(d) Lem.

FX puts the broadcast channels to shame in terms of quality programming.
Just my opinion.

I don't have cable, but my local library was kind/smart enough to have the first two seasons on DVD for loan! I saw these and thought, "My God, are cops really like this anywhere??". Top-notch stuff!

I think that the actor Michael Chiklis is amazing. I never saw the Commish, his other tv gig, but heard he was great in that as well, although the roles, the charactors are completely different.

Although I was not fond of the movie, I found his acting in Fantastic Four to be spot-on too. And the interviews in the "Making of..." part of that film show how kind and nice of a guy he is- affable, likeable, considerate- nothing like his charactor.

I find the writing regarding some of the continuing plot lines to be a little exaggerated and barely believable (my opinion) but the charactors are so well developed and interesting, and the acting for the most part by all cast members to be top-notch, it's worth watching the show for that alone.

This Shield along with Nip Tuck, The Sopranos and Boston Legal are to me the best shows on television. I have heard rumors that this was The Shields last season. If you think about it they have just about done as much as they can with it. Most would agree for the show to end Vic would have to die or face prison for his crimes. I am not sure I would want to see either but I would be compelled to watch it. My normal channels to watch are Discovery, A&E, History, TV Land, National Geographic and FX. I havent really watched network tv in a very long time.

Man I forgot I posted this thread.

I think that the 07' season will be the last. Shit has been spinning out of control since the beginning of the show. I just couldn't believe Lem got fragged. I was sincerely pissed.

Also, Rescue me is a great show. The best acting Dennis Leary has ever done IMO. Im gettin excited for the show to come on at the end of may.

The new show "Thief" looks promising.

There are 10 more episodes scheduled for The Shield for next season. Forrest Whittaker will be returning but maybe not for the entire 10 episode run. Possible Glenn Close will make a cameo depending on her homelife. This is from the producer. He has indicated he will make a decision about more episodes later during the filming of the next 10. Lets hope there are more. I LOVE this show

I am a former addict of the show, but my cable tv is gone. Very edgy - kind of a action-packed soap opera. A lot of interesting plays on morality.
