help me id an Irwin Winkler movie - Videokarma.org TV - Video

Okay, I cought this movie, produced or directed by Irwin Winkler, back about 5 years ago on cable, 5 or 6 in the morning, after a long night out on the town. It was a 60's flavored film, and most likelty shot in the 60s as well, with an opening segment or near-opening segment of dancers at a party, some go-go action, and lots of stylized lighting. Either I fell asleep or the cable konked off (I don't remember-late night, as I said), so that is all the info I have.

Sorry for the lack of details and info. I'd love to chase the film down, but that is all I have. Thanks- any help is appreciated.

My first guess would be "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" with Jane Fonda.

But Winkler produced, Sydney Pollack directed...

The dance party idea makes that my best offering.

There's this site called IMDB that has the largest aggregation of movie info on the Net.

If you go there and search for Irwin Winkler, methinks you'll find what you seek fairly quickly.

theodoric is correct. You cannot beat imdb for finding information on any and all films.

I gave IMDB a shot a few years ago on it but didn't turn up what I was looking for. I'll give it a shot again. It is a great site.

My big problem here is I only caught a small glimpse of the film. I'm my own biggest hurdle on this one.

BridgedtoMono, thanks for the guess on this one, but alas that is not it. It resembled something more like a scene from a foriegn film like Blow-Up or Girl On A Motorcycle/Naked Under Leather. You know, a real beatnik hipster feel with stylized lighting and groovy cats, ya dig?

The IMDB is great if you know only a fragment about a movie. You can search it from Google or Yahoo and not need to go to their site. If you want to find all films that Bruce Davison did, you'd type "Bruce Davison filmography" from any search engine and either IMDB or Rotten Tomatoes will come up.

As an aside, I looked through Winkler's list of films. Too bad so many of the early ones aren't available. There looks to be quite a few gems in there.
