Console Repair? ( may be off topic )
My apologies to the mod and members if this post is entirely inappropriate, however this seemed the only reasonable forum to ask in.
My father has a small Panasonic music console. No Tv, just an AM/FM/Turntable self contained in a wooden cabinet, two built in speakers. It's been in our family since I was a kid and has a lot of sentimental value..Yes even though it's what it is. He has mentioned several times that he'd like to get it playable again. The tt is frozen up, probably the belt. Needs a new stylus of course. The controls are full of static, I believe the am/fm is functional but? The cabinet is in pretty good shape overall. Are there any members on this board that do repair/restoration work on something like this? Or could direct me to someone who does? Thanks for any replies

How big is it? If it is a console style unit you would likely need a frieght company to ship it to any of the AK techs. An alternative is to remove the AM/FM and Player and just ship them.

Thanks merrylander, this is a tabletop size player. Sat on top of our old TV for many years. Maybe I can get some pics of it but it will be a few days. Overall it's about the same size as a vintage receiver.

Save your money
Ask around and see if any TV shops are around you that have been in business for 10 to 40 years. A good TV shop should be able to do this -since stereo is SOLID STATE??, also since have tt. A more cost effective way would be to take out and remove tt--- and ship to servicer, rest of service done at TV shop. ship services are great BUT expensive, sometimes making custom box for item shipped to arrive in good condition. Find A local service shop if can, that can repair tt..

Thanks vintagecollect, I'll have a look at this and see what I can do about it.
