Sears rectangular on Ebay

I am considering a bid on this one. Could this be a Japanese set? The CRT is a 400KB22. I have to say I like the looks of this one. Very retro! Input from the gallery and experts?

My grandfather had a set like this. My dad watched the landing on the moon when he was 13. I think it was a motorola chassis, but I'm not sure. I didn't get to play with it because he sold it after the flyback died...

It must be Japanese. I worked on a similar chassis briefly. It was in a table model and had many tubes, seems like it was a brass colored chassis that looked complex to me being that I was about 14. I think it was a Sanyo but I could be wrong. That must be an extremely rare set. I hope you get it!

Yep, gotta be Japanese. A real oddball, especially in that cabinet. That style console has long been a favorite of mine. Something homey about it, fits in with the conservative aspects of the sixties.

Uhhh, ain't tryin' to bust you boy's balloons an' all, but methinks that's the same kind of Sears color set we had back when & it gave NOTHING but trouble...Sometimes, it would tear up B4 the repairman got out of town. We then got one of the first Porta Colors & it worked great til '72 or '73 when we got a Trinitron.-Sandy G.
