I can't read all of the ad, but from what I can read, I believe they are referring to "keyed AGC", which was introduced about this time. In keyed AGC systems, the AGC voltage is developed only during the horizontal sync pulse interval, 15,750 times per second, rather than continuously. This makes the AGC voltage relatively immune to electrical impulse interference, and reduces rapid signal flutter caused by airplanes passing nearby.
