this looks like an adaptation of a small console phono design into a TV-phono console...this does look factory though, as the sides extend continously all the way up to the tv portion.

Its original as i have the same identical set. The slots on either side the tv and at bottom by speaker are for the four record storage albums that came with it which mine still has. Once the albums are put in the cabinet...it looks less weird.
