Just say No!
Well my just say NO pledge lasted all about 5 days. I went to the Salvation Army and came home with this Zenith combo. It is chassis 16L24. I believe it is from 1963 or 64. If it were not for it being real clean I would have passed. I plugged it in and it worked for about 30 seconds. The circuit breaker blew in the back. I guess it would not be a hobby if it worked. Did I get a good buy for my $21.40?

Another view. Behind the Zenith(under the tarp) is the Philco 48-2500 projection set I picked up last week. That is in another thread.

Nice! someones gotta save the big ones.
I have a 48-2500 parts set so if you need anything give a holler. Good chassis, bad mirror, screen and cabinet. Eric |

I fooled with the Zenith tonight. Got a very nice picture on it. Those oozing lytics are a very good clue. Have to clean or replace the switch for the mono and stereo speakers. Needle for the record player is missing also.
The set was buried behind a bunch of head boards and bed parts. I looked at the back and was excited to see a CRT cup. Dug it out and it was a B/W combo. For $20 it was a steal. Wish it was a roundie color with space command. We can get all of our wishes. My 48-2500 is missing the speaker. If that is there I could use it. PM me with details. I will post updates on that set in the thread. polaraman |

The speaker is there, kinda rusty but I'll have to take it out and check on the condition of the cone.

I'm picking up three 48-2500's shortly. Two I'll part out, if you need any parts let me know.
