I was surprised I could get VHF-Lo, VHF-Hi, and UHF with no antenna either, and I didn't realize this but I guess you can put in rechargeable D-Cells? Picture wasn't bad at all either with no antenna, a little snowy of course, but surprisingly good without one. Us gentlemen and scholars need to stick together
