CRT Sub?

Does anyone know if a 16BAP4 will sub for a 16BCP4?

My book says that 16BAP4 will cross to a 16BEP4 with parallel elements only. Somebody may know different than the book.

Bummer, I think this set is parallel but I wonder what the difference is?

Someone's selling a NOS 16BAP4 on eBay and I was hoping it would fit my 64 Zenith.

Heater current is the determining factor if it will be used in a series string...if the current of the tube is not the same as all the others you will have trouble getting the tubes to light. However if the set uses a 6.3 volt parallel heater circuit, the tube can draw any current it wants to as long as it's rated at 6.3 volts and the power supply can supply the filament current.

This could be worked around, using a seperate filament transformer just for the crt and subbing a resistor in the series filament circuit. (sez the guy who thinks he knows what he's talking about sometimes!)
