oooooook...here's a set that i'm just curious as to what year it is.all the owner knows is that its model # is MV115LC - 1 and the serial # is 872474..anyone got an idea as to the year of this model?thanks

I have this set...it's a 1954 model. Has a hi-fi audio system w/12" speaker and push-pull 6V6 output, also I think it has 2 5U4 rectifiers. Also has larger 24" screen. Unfortunately on mine the flyback is out.

Do you have a part number or substitue for the flyback? I will check the ones that I have.

well,i'm happy to say fellas that i'm the proud new owner of this set (it was an ebay auction and i'm the winning bidder!) so now this is my 1st vintage TV set..and i won it at the great price of $0.99!!the owner says "All tubes and the picture tube are there and light up when the unit is plugged in. The speaker makes noise, but I have not hooked up an antenna to see if I could get a picture or audible sound."...so hopefully this'll be a working set..and if not,it'll be a nice piece to have around until i get the $$ to repair it

anyone got any thoughts on this set?i just thought i'd post a new comment to keep the board alive (it's been kinda dead lately)i'll be picking it up with the chassis and all that inside,so i'm gonna see what it takes to get her workin..if it's too difficult for me and anyone else i know,she's gonna stay unplugged as a piece of decor until i either find out how to fix it or just drop in a color set.anyone have any experience with these things? from the measurements i've been given,it seems pretty roomy for repairs/replacements..does anyone have a TV Guide of the same year..?hehe IS this a 54 model or is it something else?the seller doesnt even know! :P

Yes this is a 54 model...this is based on the photofacts folder I was reading for it. It would be a good idea to replace all capacitors to get it working well and reliably. Make sure you observe safety precautions for working with CRT's/high voltage. If I remember correctly the picture tube is mounted to the the chassis and that comes out as one unit. This is a high-end model with better audio circuitry and larger CRT than the average set so it would give you good performance when repaired. It is bigger, heavier, and taller than a usual 21" set.

ok,i got an e-mail back from the seller..he's got an old stereo that he had on ebay that no one bid on so he says i'm welcome to it...he sent me some pix and i'm pretty sure i'm gonna have to take it!i'll try to shrink the pix down to get them on the board...check these out...
