Couple of Questions on Convergence and H-Hold

I decided it is time to find out if my convergence issues are user error or not. Against my better judgement I decided to mess with it again in hopes of figuring out why my results are what they are. Of course many will know this is on a CCII 25EC58.

I'm attaching a pic of the best center viewing convergence I can get. I know the sides will never be perfect, but they must get better than this. If I move the blue on the right side up, it messes up the blue on some areas on the left side. Pretty much the same if I try to line up the green and red on the right side. I've left it pretty much like this as it is less distracting on that side of the screen. The left side is pretty close, but if I try to make it better, it messes up convergence elsewhere along the grid. I've replaced all the pots out of spec and all of the coils. I only adjust the coils with a plastic tool.

The other question I have is about interaction between convergence pots and coils. There are three for the top of the screen and three for the bottom of the screen. If I adjust the bottom controls to line things up, the top moves as well. Not to the degree of the bottom, but enough that I have to keep going back and forth trying to get them where I want them. I know there is interaction between controls, but is the top and bottom supposed to interfere with each other?

On the horizontal hold... I have the original module installed and no movement of the control will cause it to lose synch. However, the image is not centered. It is off to the right by about 3/4" If I rotate the hold control it moves even more to the right, so rotating all the way the other direction, fully, gets me to being off by 3/4". In looking over the control I notice it is a shaft that engages a coil. Since there is a stop on the control, I'm assuming you're not supposed to adjust it more in either direction. Is this correct? I'm hoping that if I can go just a bit further I could move the image to center. The newer module I had in it before it died centered the image perfectly.

So can the coil and shaft be disconnected so I can reposition the shaft rotation to give me a little extra image movement or will that just throw off the synch?

Other than these 2 minor issues, the set has been running great. I am still torn between un-plugging between uses or leaving it plugged in. Knowing that the tube is good with many hours left in it, I am worried about the heating element.

Thanks! Hope everyone is doing well.

Do you have the service manual for the set? The published order of convergence adjustments is usually designed to prevent ending up with an excessive error in one area of the screen. Rectangular tube horizontal dynamic waveforms usually consist of the same horizontal rate parabola and sawtooth waveforms as a round tube, plus a higher frequency adjustment that affects things halfway between cneter and edge. Your picture looks like MAYBE you have walked the adjustments into a state where the horizontal rate adjustments are not not really right but are being compensated by the higher frequency adjustments from center to halfway out, and beyond that distance the compensation is wrong. (Or something like that, anyway.)

In other words, MAYBE adjust the H parabola so the blue is less low at the edges and slightly high halfway out, then adjust the high frequency to cancel it in both places.

Sorry I don't remember what names they put on these adjustments, just what the waveforms do.
