10" GE color TV from 1983

I know most everyone has seen these 10" GE color TVs, and they made about a billion of them from about 1977 until they got out of the TV business in 1986, and this was the replacement for the tube Porta-Color.

This particular one is from 1983 and uses the 10AB chassis. When I last had it on, probably 15 years ago, it would produce a picture. Today, I fired it up and got sound, but no HV, for about 3 seconds, and then the B+ fuse blew.

After checking the HOT, I substituted a 60 watt incandescent bulb for the fuse and the set came on with pulsating audio, but not one bit of HV. I know the bulb is going to lower B+, but the 145V line was running about 89V, and all of the scan-derived sources were low. With that, we know that horizontal drive was present and the output stage was trying to work. Otherwise, there would be no scan voltages at all. Lastly, I ran a ring test on the flyback and it shows as being bad. So, unless I can find an EP77X44 flyback, this set has reached the end of its run.

Ahh damn. I wonder if its just moisture intrusion into the flyback over time. I have that same exact TV, owned it since my early childhood in the early 90s. Still works although its starting to have weird color locking issues until it warms up, and I already had to patch a griplet problem to restore vertical.
