JVC Videosphere 3240 Horizontal Issue

Hello All,
I have been restoring a JVC Videosphere Model 3240. It has had several issues. Here is whay I have done so far:
- The power supply would drop out, so I have replaced Current Regulator X24 and Regulator Amp X25, as well as the electrolytic caps for the five DC power sources.
- There was no picture or sound, so I used a tuner subber to bypass the tuner. I now have picture and sound, supplied by a DVD player through an RF Modulator.
- The picture was narrow horizontally (vertical appears okay and linear), so per the Sam’s I have replaced X20 Horiz Osc, X21 Horiz Drive, and X22 Horiz Out, as well as the electrolytics and some resistors in those circuits.
- I found a 2017 post in Videokarma (“Findm-Keepm”,Brian) suggesting that I change C401 and C402 to polystyrene/styroflex caps, which I have done.
- I also changed mylar cap C301 in the AGC circuit, also suggested in the Videokarma post.
- At this point, I have a double horizontal image, with a dark band down the center (image attached).
- The horizontal hold has range, and it holds, but I can’t get rid of the double image.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

The dark bar is the hoz blanking pulse. The vert is stretched and maybe rolling.
Start at the hoz AFC & if it is rolling also, look at the sync sep stage.
With ANY old JA solid state B&W they have bad small 'lytics. Even
50 yrs ago recapping the hoz & vert would fix 90% of them. JUST the
electrolytics ! When the hoz is fixed odds are the width will be normal.

GL & keep us posted.

Someone posted a similar problem on a set a while back, turns out they had misread the value of a cap in the AFC/OSC circuit that they replaced.
