1962 Setchell-Carlson 23" B&W TV/stereo

At an estate sale in Meridian, MS, they had this 23" Setchell-Carlson B&W TV/stereo combination from 1962, and they initially wanted $200 for it, but today was half-price day and I bought it, only because it was an S-C with the modular chassis, those were not popular around here, and the chances of me finding another one are basically zero. For whatever reason, the homeowners used an out-of-town estate sale company who I've never dealt with before (had it been one of the local ones that I deal with, they would have likely told me to either just take it or give us $20 and it's yours). The radio has two separate AM/FM dials, likely for the purpose of early stereo broadcasting, where one channel would be sent over AM and the other channel over FM. I have not checked the jug, and I'm a bit afraid to because it seems like the more I pay for a set increases the chances of the jug being bad. Had this been a "run-of-the-mill" combo, I would have left it with them and based on an old service sticker, this thing once lived in New York.

Looks like a nice find. At some point I should probably make finding a Setchell Carlson stereo or combo a goal. I've got a few sets from them 2 monochrome portables and a monochrome School TV/Monitor, a roundy color, a rectangular color, an industrial color monitor (same tube chassis as the home rectangular set just sans RF and audio modules), and an AM radio, but I've never owned any stereo gear and only seen pictures of 2 combos from them.

I actually had the chance to work on one of these for a neighbor once it was just the turntable portion of it but nonetheless it was a Setchel-Carlson unit and it was pretty darn cool looking, I think the one that my old neighbor had looked exactly like this one, it even had the dual tuning dials on the radio.
