I am searching for a photo
I remembered a picture that I've seen on the Internet many years ago of a bunch of guys standing over the cabinet of an Admiral console bakelite television from about 1948, to show the strength of the cabinet. I was unable to find it on Google, would anyone here have this picture? Thanks in advance.

Afaik, the Admiral TV cabinets were the largest Bakelite objects ever manufactured. They had to be produced in precision polished molding dies in large high pressure hot presses, the finished product could have the moulding flash ground away, attempts at after-press polishing would ruin the high sheen the die polish presented.

Said that the set cost $250 which roughly equates to $3,078.81 today!

New one on me, apparently, they produced eight of them.
I suppose we could then amend my statement with, "in the U.S.".

Admiral did make larger bakelite TV cabinets over the next few years. A 12", 14", 16" and finally 21" tabletop all in bakelite.

Here's an example of the 16" with a 10" hiding behind.

Bob, I have that same 26R12 set as well. I had one as a teenager and it got away long ago. I replaced it and rebuilt it years ago.
