1967 Motorola Compact 3 Piece Stereo Separates
Hello: I am trying to find information on a stereo system that our senior class purchased using my dad's Motorola employee discount in 1967. (He worked for Motorola on Augusta Blvd and Franklin Park when they opened their new HQ on Grand Avenue). Anyway, I first saw a demonstration of this unit at Motorola's downtown Chicago public showroom and it blew me away. The system had a central turntable with ceramic cartridge/am-fm multiplex, dust cover built on to the unit and it had a 50 watt per channel (Peak) amp. The speakers were separated (of course) and housed an 8" Woofer, Horn type mid-range and a separate tweeter. Believe it or not, the sound quality was VERY impressive. It retailed at $299.95 and they offered an upgrade ($399.95) unit that bumped up the turntable to a magnetic cartridge unit, the amp doubled to 100 watts per channel (Peak) and the speaker woofer went to 10".
We students couldn't afford the upgrade but we did purchase the less expensive unit and it really was a very handsome and great sounding system. The FM Multiplex was awesome as well. I'm trying to locate info, ads, pictures etc and I have no data concerning the model number etc. I contacted Sams Photofacts to see if they could help me and they were of no help. If there is anybody on the site who could give me some info I would be eternally grateful. Thanks.

I don't know why you posted that under televisions.
That's a tall order partner! Motorola could have produced a handful of models that fit that description in 1967 alone and it might of been a early unveiling of a 1968 model. Try looking at old magazine ads of those years. You are going to have to do the detective work because only you knew what it looked like. In the olden days there were "brown goods" retail mags
we got for free. The one I remember was Dealerscope. This type set is often there. If you can find an old SAMS collection you can do a search but that may not have a pix. so you may miss it. Same with Moto OEM manuals. Watch e-bay for sales brochures. BTW search between 1967 & 1970 73 Zeno  LFOD !
