Ampex VPR-1
I have 2 Ampex VPR-1 video decks, 2 TBC-2 Time Base Correctors with connection cables, and manuals. I am a Electrical Engineer and I collect, repair, and use vintage audio tape Decks, and vintage stereo equipment. Don’t really have a use for these. Does anyone have a ballpark figure on what they might be worth untested/as-is? I am sure they will need cleaning, lubrication, replacement of dried out caps, etc. I do it all the time on audio tape decks. I did some searching but could not find much about them other than some were converted from Type A to Type C. I have no idea if these were or how to tell if they were.

My understanding is that most VPR1 machines were converted to C format. The basic video track layout is identical on both formats.

Where are you located? If you are within a reasonable driving distance of me I'd be interested in making you an offer.
