Canadian RCA CTC-39X Chassis Removal

Hello again everyone!

That last thread really helped me out a lot. I've got the power section all sorted and the odd instant on variant control figured out. Since then I've identified some caps that are probably toast and I need to replace my breaker, so I am gearing up to pull the chassis.

For the most part it seems easy to remove with most of the wires on connectors. The speaker looks to be a pain with spades on the fragile terminals, but whatever. The main issue I am having is that the bundle of wires going to the speaker panel/door with the front-picture controls are not on a socket/plug and the door they are connected to has no obvious release.

Does anyone have any tips on how to release this door without damaging anything?

IIRC there are 2 1/4" screws holding in the control assy.
Remove knobs then screws & the whole panel slides out.
BTW there is a tuner service mounting on the rear of the main chassis.
That blank metal arm near the power transformer is part of it.
Also has a place to nail down the control assy. Cant remember where
but IIRC it involved a U shaped bracket.

Yeah, do what Zeno said and the metal control subchassis should separate from the door.

BTW it tends to clutter the forum and separate important information when you start multiple topics on a single set. Please try to keep everything about this set in a single thread going forward.

Thanks everyone and apologies for the multiple posts. I'll report back when I get it figured out.
