RCA Console 233 DX956 MV

Hey gang, long time no see. A friend has an old radio/phono/TV console in his garage and was wondering whether anyone would want it. I couldn't get inside the back at the time but I got a model #. Can't find anything on the googles so I wondered if anyone can identify a year for it. Kinda looks late 50s or 60s. There was stuff on top so I couldn't lift the lid to get a look at the phono. The control panel is in the front though and the big clear plastic knobs have a tube-era look so I'm guessing 1960 +/-.

Also the model # may have a CD in front of it. Those letters appeared in the Ser. # box but they match the font of the model stamp and not the serial number stamp.

Would appreciate any info. I searched for "Sam's" plus the model # and got nothing.

Thanks.

Aha, it seems to be Sams 649-3. Model # is without the CD up front. Anyone have it?

I know for RCA you’ll want to look on the TV chassis for the the chassis number. If it’s color it will be CTC-*** or B&W it will be KCS-***. I dunno about the radio/stereo chassis

Sometimes Sams includes the stereo in sub folders & sometimes in a
different set. The components will have there own chassis or assy ##'s

Oh, good to know, thanks guys. I will see if I can get the owner to take the back cover off and get a chassis number. No wonder I didn't have much luck on the webbernet, except for learning the Sams number.
