ID this Zenith

This set is at an upcoming sale near me. Looks like perhaps the 25MC36 chassis? And also it looks to me it’s remote, but, I can’t quite tell.

Seems to be a model 25X6545X from 1967.
It will be an X series chassis number.
Yes it is remote but some with this panel style came without.
You can tell by the window on the pencil box.
These had great audio. Those are bass & treble controls on
the bottom right.

There were some power tuning sets without a remote reciever chassis...It seems like a funny option choice... It's like ordering the factory to build you an AC car with no heater core.

These sets DO have great audio. I have a 25MC36 with basically the same cabinet except it’s not French provincial. That set also has the motorized tuning but it’s not remote.

If I lived in some nice always warm place like Hawaii or somewhere like that , I'd SO do that to bust the car dealer's balls .... "NO ! I don't WANT a heater in my car , and I want a reduction in price because I know the heater parts aren't free !"

Never been kicked out of a car dealership before , , , But I'll bet that would do it

I had a roundie Zenith with that setup; best sounding TV I've ever owned. I guess it would be fairly easy to rig up a wired remote for one of these. I had a mid-50s Philco b/w with power tuning and a wired remote connection on the back so I just made up my own with an extension cord and a switch. (I think that set would only do on-off and one-way tuning via motor).

It is probably a 20X1C38 chassis; I used to service them. Watch out for disintegrating convergence coils, and there is a 150k resistor in the blanking circuit that chars and goes way down in value; that puts a near-short on the B+. We always replaced it with a one watt size.
