RCA WR-61B and WR-64A color bar generators: what to keep?
So for a while I've had the 64 and recently a friend dumped the 61 on me. I need to get rid of one or more of them.
Based on the inscription on the 64 it looks like a gated rainbow generator the same as (though with fewer features) my Heathkit IO-101. I'm not sure what patterns the 61 has. Do either of these RCAs have any useful features my Heathkit lacks to merrit keeping one or should I pass both of them on to someone else?

WR64 modification
I didn't like the way the WR64 was designed so I changed it. Instead of cables exiting the rear I put connectors on the front. Where the cables exited on the rear, there is now a fuse socket.
Underneath the pattern knob is a BNC connector which is video out.Underneath the function knob is RF out. The video output is fed by a 2 transistor line driver circuit on a 2x2 circuit board (See figure 3). The power for the line driver circuit is from a modified wall wart (added a 12V regulator) that is mounted next to the power transformer (see figure 2). So I guess this is now a WR64C.

The 64 is the most likely to go since it appears to be the same gated rainbow pattern that my Heathkit has (only the Heath does a lot more).
The friend that dumped the 61 on me said it sorta worked so I guess I'll give each a turn on the variac and TV and see for myself if they do anything that merrits the space they consume. I'm pretty sure the answer to that will be no.

Used the 64 when I worked at the shop back in the seventies. They have solid state ones now that would take up a lot less space. It's hard to get rid of stuff. Truly an American disease: stuff.

Those old units (including Heathkits) are really historical pieces for the most part.
My best test generator is the Tektronix TSG170A. It does everything. Got it for 1 cent off eBay. (The shipping was more.) NTSC stuff is really coming down. Here is the "D" version of the same generator: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tektronix-T...UAAOSw8xhdBK9R
