What's going on with VDC?

When I do an online search for the 23ANP4 I am looking for, it gives me VDC as one of the results.. Of course, it shows one in stock for $140 or so. I know better than going through the online purchase, as they just wait a day or two then refund the money.

I called there, all I get is the automated bs.. When I did get the voicemail for the right person, it also gave a cell number to call.. When I did that, the guy that answered said he was laid off TWO years ago!!

Why don't they just shut down the website or at least update it?

And update their voicemail, at least remove the people that were let go.. LOL!

I tried the guy in Georgia that posted here for the tube, but he threw out all the remaining stock when he moved, soooo, I guess I will have to wait until a good used one comes by.

When I needed a tube for a JVC Pyramid I just E-Mailed them, they got back to me reasonably quickly but there was a bit of confusion on the pricing.

I did get my tube with no problem though.

Try dealing with them when you are a government purchaser, for a $4K CRT - even more hurdles - triplicate purchase order, rescreen of the document number, agree on a shipping point/loading plan, and then the documentation for non-proliferation - yes, non-proliferation. Seems they sold some multiplier tubes to the wrong person once, and even the government has to certify the tube (for an aircraft HUD) is not for nuclear proliferation. ~ 6 days of frustration to get a normally stocked, normally procured part.

They should have all of Empire Video's old rebuilt CRT stock too - I wonder why that hasn't surfaced. Empire was a good rebuilder - and filled the Channel Master void nicely.

Maybe we've become the small fish in a bigger sea, and are no longer viewed as a big-enough customer?

Looking for a tube for that Zenith SC300 console? I looked for years for a tube for that set and never found one, that's a weird one with the bonded safety glass. I had another Zenith console (no remote) with the same CRT and I would have swapped it in that remote console had it been any better, but they were both equally weak.

Reminds me of the Sears Parts Direct website a few years back. They had all kinds of CRT's listed on that website, including color roundys. You could put them in your shopping cart and they'd take payment for them, and the prices were very reasonable. Then nothing would happen until you would contact them and requested an update.

They were good enough to supply me with seven of the 17-inch Predicta CRTs several years ago. But it was a shame to see that of the other dozen or so different types I tried to order all came back as "not in stock".

Yes Adam. The tube rejuvenated with good results, but I would like to get a new one for it soon.

And yes, I have emailed them with no luck..

i called vdc about 6 years ago.they had a 25vdmp22 listed.i inquired and the lady on the other end said they still had one on the shelf.i quickly ordered and waited 3 months.i called a few times and was assured it was being shipped.a month went by and i asked for a refund.they complied and all was well.3 weeks later,my neighbor got a package from vdc.it was the crt.it had been shipped twice to the wrong address.its in my superset right now.i did call them back and wanted to pay for it.lady told me not to worry about it.back in the day,vdc was a very reliable company.
