Sencore VA62

I picked this VA62 up at a yard sale today for $20. Operating condition unknown. I will need service manual, operating manual, and there are no cables with it.

Send Phil Nelson a PM - he posted links to the VA62 documentation a while back, and may still have it available.

Cables are straight forward, with few adaptor boxes. I'll see what I have and post pix of any oddball stuff.

We used the VA62 for ringing flys, and biasing tuners for tuning voltage or bandswitching. We used the Horiz and Vertical sweep signals to sub, and did very little aligning of IFs/Color with it. The VA62 and an SC61 would troubleshoot 80% of sets - the rest were either easy fixes, or cap/ESR metered sets.

Great find, and great price!

Cheers,

Well I have powered it up. It does show some promising signs of life. Looks like some dirty pots. I will not know until I put it on the scope, but some of the frequencies may not be selecting correctly. Or, I may not know just what I am looking at yet. I did find the manuals on Phil's site. I will have to read up to find out how to operate it. The fuse for the ringing test is missing along with the cap for the fuse holder. One of the channel up buttons is missing, the switch is there and works fine, just the black button is missing. The quick refrence guide on the bottom slide out is there. Now I will have to also find the manuals for the VC63 that I have to go with it. I am hoping the cables are nothing more than BNC connector or bannana connectors with clip leads. Those would be easy to make. I could probably use the rf cable from my B&K 415 if I need to. Still for the price and no shipping I think it will work out fine.
