Sony BVH 500
Hi, I just found a Sony BVH 500 "portable" one inch recorder. I was wondering if anyone has ever been able to connect it to a TBC without having the playback adapter? I have the pin outs of the connector but thought I would check here to see if anyone has ever tried it. Also, I am looking for the playback adapter, either the Sony HT 500 A or the CLP 550.
Thanks, Murphy |

What is the pin out of the connector?
I am sure a break out cable could be made for connecting to a standard TBC. The color playback adapters are quite rare. Matt |

Am I correct in thinking I would have to feed sync in from the TBC?

Your TBC should have an Advance Sync out, which you would feed into the VTR, the RF would go to the RF in onyour TBC.
I am going to see if I can come up with a connector for that plug (I think there was an edit controller that used the same one) and I will try and make up a cable. |

If you cannot locate a mating plug, I believe I have one new in the package I can send to you. It is just the plug with housing and cable clamp, no cable.

Thanks for the pinout. I have the RCA version of this deck and this is a big help. I have a Prime Image TBC that has all the ports. Now for the connector and getting my deck to move forward. Shuts down on play.

Unfortunately, the plug I have that I thought was 24 pins is only 20 pins. Sorry I can't assist.

Thanks for all of the information. One other question, I was wondering if I could use a Betacam playback adapter? I have seen a few models that have sync and reference connections. Again, thanks for all you help. If I ever get around to playing with my TCR 100, I know where to go for help!
