Being of Ukrainian heritage I have always wanted a Russian TV. The only listings I have seen on eBay are for really boring portables......

But shipping is prohibitive.

I ordered some Russian 6N7 tubes for my RCA pa amplifier off of eBay recently. They came nicely packed in a yellow box directly from Ukraine. The tubes work great and they're unique looking too.

One unique collectible is wired radios. The soviets had a "wired radio" system where the "radio" was a speaker with a volume control which plugged into a special receptacle in every apartment. There was a network of distribution amplifiers to provide a signal to the "radios". They used exactly the same plug as a usual 220v power plug so when I got one it came with a lot if warnings from the previous owner about not to plug if in directly!

Many of these "wired radios" were made as souvenirs, with lots of soviet imagery and cool looking packages. They're also small and light - maybe a better thing to start with than a tv if you want a piece of soviet electronics.
