So turns out Moyer Electronics is only two miles off route 15 in PA, which I pass by often to travel from Maryland to Buffalo, NY to see my in-laws. Decided to stop in there today and meet the guys and see their Sunbury, PA location (they have two others stores too).

Got to meet Bill Moyer and see some of their inventory. They were an official RCA parts dealer from 1953 to 2004. This was their small store and their inventory was still pretty impressive.

After chatting with one of their employees there all week via email (Jim) he offered to sell me his grandfather's GE 800. Along with it, parts he had accumulated for it. Got a full NOS set of control pots, NOS flyback, NOS yoke, full spare set of tubes, and the SAMS and Rider for $100. 10BP4 is extremely weak. But I have a good spare at home. Only one tiny crack in top of cabinet, otherwise all there and in great shape.

That is a very good deal especially considering all the new parts.
I restored a GE 805W which is very similar to yours.
Yours folks refer to as the "double D" because of the way the left
and right sides of the CRT face bulges outward revealing more CRT surface.
All of the models in this series are also called the "GE Locomotives" because
they resemble a train locomotive.

The controls in these GE models are not strongly constructed. There are a
lot of Electrolytic Capacitors to replace but when done that little GE puts out a
very nice picture.

One tip given to me when I was restoring mine was to remove the rubber CRT mask and
wash it with dishwashing detergent and it will clean up to a like new pretty green.
The metal on the front is solid brass and will polish nicely with Brasso - then spray
it with clear lacquer to keep it looking bright. I took some red paint and smeared
across the lettering on the bezel pieces, let it dry for a few minutes then wiped
off - that restored the lettering. Can't remember if I did that before or after
I sprayed clear lacquer. Course, that Bakelite case will polish out looking
fantastic too - Novus 2 and 3, or Brasso works great.

I like this TV because it has old school quality we don't see today - solid brass,
real glass protecting the CRT, attractive looks.

Another tip given me ... as soon as you extract the chassis, put a piece of
cardboard over the Speaker to protect it. It is so easy to punch out the paper
cone with one of your fingers while moving the chassis.

Moyers is the only parts source us TV people have left on the East Coast.

Then there is Surplus sales of Nebraska , which seems to be a great source of non-standard stuff.

I call a 805 in mind my own, too. (rectangular mask)
It is restored, great performer with a like-new picture tube.
It is alligned to 5,5 MHz sound carrier and works fine with 625 lines.
I bought mine for 74,xx $ close to Westminster/MD 23 years ago.
The seller was a console collector and was a friend from guy who lived
in the Westminster/Finksburg area.
The seller was hookes on 30s/40s console radios, his house was charged
with consoles from the bottom to the top, including the garage....
They "picked" me up inside the huge antique mall of Emmitsburg (over 100 dealers ).
Bought several good sets from there.
What I can see on your picture are holes in the cabin which had bolts
to hold a thin grill.
This grill, in my opinion it is worthless as far it is a shield against heat.
It seems to be that it is sprayed with a brownish asbestos!?
In this case I wanna get rid of it, too.
Anybody who can bring light in this case?

My 800D has a bad horz linearly coil, the ones with the really long shafts.

Do you have an extra in your parts stash you would sell?

My 1965 Zenith 5111 set had an "efficiency" coil, or horizontal linearity coil that the plastic had disintegrated and the windings were just sort of flopping around with no way to adjust the output tube's cathode current. Long story on color sets and cathode current.

Anyway, I thought for the longest time that I was going to have to luck out and find someone with a spare chassis and a donor that I could buy. I didn't have any luck going that route. I knew I had good luck with Moyers in the past, but just wouldn't expect anyone to house a 50 year old coil that not many people talk about. Turns out they had two and with other things going on I failed to put in my order immediately. Two weeks later both were gone! I couldn't believe it. Evidently more people are needing them than what I thought or saw evidence of on here. Luckily for me an Internet search on the part # came up with one more place in the world that listed the part.

I ended up getting it for $10 more than Moyer's and dealt with not so friendly people. Supposedly this company had been around long enough to still have the part but had grown so much since the days of repairing home entertainment equipment that their sales rep was not used to an individual calling to have a single part sent to their home. They made it utterly apparent that my business was not what they were used to doing. Evidently years ago they shifted to dealing only with industrial repair services or whatnot. Either way I had to be humble and get what seemed to be the last coil for my TV on Earth.

You mentioned needing the long shaft here. Will the short shaft job that Moyer's is going to price you work?

That supplier you got the coil from is not unusual. Two old-time parts distributors in this area are still in business, like Tubejunke said, to sell to industrial and commercial "low voltage installer" accounts. Getting a single part there (like I used to at RS) is very awkward, they are not set up for the little guy anymore. But once I showed up enough to buy soldering items, chemicals and other "shop" necessities, they are quite helpful because the people there never change and they remember the old school techs.

It should, it would just be difficult to adjust, and impossible to adjust with the TV assembled to the bakelite case
