How true
I found this quote referencing this disgusting article:
http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/befo...t-condo-191430 "The first line of the article is a bit optimistic - "I can attest to the challenge of refinishing a vintage stereo entertainment cabinet." I'd hardly call this "refinishing" (or a challenge for that matter), as you stripped the cabinet (managing to damage the veneer in the process) and slapped several coats of paint on. If you really wanted to "refinish" this, it would mean stripping the cabinet and using the appropriate timber stain and lacquer to restore the set to original appearance. Congratulations on vandalising another piece of history for the purpose of looking "trendy" Fairlane500skyliner Last edited by atomicomatic; 06-18-2014 at 01:01 PM. Reason: wording |

(Sigh...) Oh well, at LEAST it wasn't a Roundie color "Consul"... Still, this is about all we can expect from the generation that wants to look & dress as BIZZARELY as possible..

Was this thing a B&W? Anyway, a purpose-made cat bed that a cat actually uses? Ha ha ha!
The idea of making a cat bed in itself borders on lunacy. They're more likely to lay on one's clothes.

It was a color set. I recognize the CRT surround....

Dogs will sleep in a dog bed, but cats sleep just about anywhere. Littermates seem to sleep together.

Coulda fooled me, I since checked out the chassis pic in the linked album, doesn't seem to be enough there for it to be a color set, most notably the lack of a three-leaf convergence yoke, but the yoke is partially hidden:

Its a B&W for sure. Kinda looks like an RCA but its a little
before my time. UHF too !! For a cat bed one will use any cardboard box. We were down Maine the week end & when we got home she pulled the towel out of the beach bag & used that. The other drifts from place to place but you can set your clock to were you find her. 73 Zeno

B&W for sure, most likely one of the 23" sets of the early to mid 60's.

Looked like an early 60s B&W to me, alas the reason it's in this section. There was one very similar in a garage sale here I only caught word about once it was over.

If you wear a lot of dark clothing, make sure to get a cat with dark-colored fur. Lighter-colored clothing, lighter-colored cat. If you get the ever-popular tuxedo cat... well, you're screwed.

This is about as attractive as making a refrigerator into a
Bookshelf, how about making an slr camera into a flashlight - just add some white LEDs What I don't get is why anyone would Copy the fish tank or cat bed ideas. A retrofit with an LCD screen I could At least understand. If I was to "repurpose" an old Tv the obvious application to me is a big speaker cabinet |

That could have been a 23" rectangular color Airline brand console. I have one with a nearly identical screen bezel.

It is definitely black and white, probably Sears. The kludgy hi watt resistors in the upper left corner are a give away.
