Another Zenith found in Italy!

Hi all!

Last month I found an interesting thing... A 1958 B&W Zenith metal cabinet! This little beast is in perfect condition and works good! When it was imported here the power transformer was replaced for working with our 220AC input, and during is life the CRT was rebuilded in USA and some tube was replaced... Power up with variac and... wow!

It looks like it has UHF strips in the tuner. Also a large speaker for a table model.

It's a possibility, here in Italy we had only one UHF channel from 1961 to late 70s.

I can only imagine what one of these-Or ANY American good must have cost in Italy... By the late 50s, the postway restrictions should have been lifted, but WE had an incredible-And ultimately FATAL-arrogance about our stuff being exported. ALL products from ALL countries should be available to ALL consumers everywhere-And then let THE MARKET, NOT politicians, decide...Adam Smith's "Invisible hand" will sort things out...COMPETITION between companies for the consumer's scarce money will win the day..Guess that's my long dormant Economics degree from college trying to raise its head..
