Can you help identify this TV (part 2)

This is a silly problem. I want to find this TV, but I don't know how to read the model number. I want exact specs and info. I'd really like to buy one!

It's a small B&W RCA. Here are images of the front and the label.




How can I find more information on it? What should I be searching for?

That label is obviously just the cabinet. You need a model or chassis number. If you can't find another label outside, you will have to open it.

RCA often had a label on the cabinet back, sometimes on the bottom of the cabinet, and another somewhere inside on the back of the chassis. The cabinet label you posted does seem to make it pretty clear that this was from 1980. I can dig through the service manuals if needed, but look again for the label first.

Well, I actually do not own the tv anymore. I found these images online, but I can't seem to find a model number. Maybe someone can identify it based on the images. Here are more:




Of course, none of the images I find show model numbers. It's small B&W. Maybe 10 or 12 inches, I recall. It only has VHF antenna screws.

Okay, looked it up in the 1980 RCA service manuals. It is chassis number KCS 204. There was an AC/DC version using chassis KCS 204B, I don't see any difference in the cabinet between the two versions. I think the only difference between models is trim. Some might be woodgrain around the knobs instead of the brushed aluminum look in these photos, stuff like that. Here are some model numbers to be on the lookout for:
AER 120S
AER 120W
AER 120Y
AER 122W
AER 123W
AER 126S
AER 126W
AER 242W
AER 246W
AER 248W

They are 12" sets, by the way. Probably made in Taiwan.

Thanks for the clues! This is a great start. I'm googling all of these leads, but I get the feeling that RCA may have recycled their model numbers over the years.

Thanks for the video! There is no way that tv is a 1962. I wonder where he got that number. The sticker in my first picture shows that particular set was produced in 1980.

I agree with the comments that say it has to be late 70s. I hope this kid didn't just use an arbitrary date to emphasize the age because RCA TVs from 1962 had a MUCH different style.

I see these (or similar) occasionally at Goodwill and such, usually in a Silver Cabinet.

Next time I see one cheap I'll grab it for you, should be shippable.

The only thing close I can find is this one from the shop floor. I "adopted" it from the street and it has worked since the day I picked it up. It is Tiawan build, 1978.
Chassis AC120S.
It's actually been a loaner for some customers believe it or not! No antenna and a scratch on the screen but still alive. Hope you find yours!

Thanks for posting that pic! It looks so similar. I bet they are only a few years apart. I wish it were closer in surface design. I love that it still works!
