Picking this up tomorrow
Made arraignments to buy a Hoffman with the stand tomorrow.
It's a Blond, (or maybe more accurately Limed Oak?) looks like a 12" set. This answers the question I had whether my 10" Hoffman had the original stand, this is identical except for the color. |

That looks very nice. I'd love to have a set like that! One question, why does the crt look green?

Ahh, good ol' Hoffman (QU)Easy-vision.....They tinted all their screens green and for over a decade used it as a marketing gimmick claiming that it was easy on the eyes.

Well I got it!
Nice set, complete with the back and factory stand. The finish is dry and thin in spots, like most light colors, it's a Limed Oak type finish, the wood underneath looks like Mahogany but the finish is painted on giving it the blond look. Haven't been home with it so testing the CRT will have to wait till tonight. The man I got it from was an older gentleman, probably in his late 60's or 70's, he said his Dad was an early adopter of new tech and bought it new. He said it was working fine when put away but I didn't ask how long ago that was. I have quite a few Hoffmans now, at least four, plus one I scrapped because it was falling apart. I probably find a lot of them because they were based in Los Angeles. They are a very well made set and perform great. I have this 10" version with the same stand, the picture is very sharp.

Well the CRT is really poor in this one, I did get the chassis to fire up with the Variac, it started making HV and lighting part of the screen at about 115 volts, however something is arcing under the 1B3 socket.
