Spotted a Crosley on Star Trek - Videokarma.org TV - Video

Of all shows to see an old TV, Star Trek Enterprise had an episode set in 1957.

Vulcans are crash landed in Carbon Creek Pennsylvania (that looks suspiciously like Big Bear CA) and there's a Crosley in a Bar.

It looks like an actual functioning set too, or they did a really good job of faking it.
The Tube seems to follow the mask and the white line through the "White Sands" text has a curve that fits the contour of the tube.

I've been watching this show with my Amazon Prime account, they have a lot of neat stuff available.

Is that the original series, or TNG? I don't think I recall seeing the episode you're speaking of.

Hes talking about the Scott Bakula, mid 2000s one, star trek enterprise.

Did you notice what the tv the vulcans had in their apartment?

I haven't finished the episode yet, I'll look for it.

Yes, this is the Scott Bakula series, and it's a good one.
If you've never seen it I highly recommend it.

Liked that episode. They even did a pretty good job on the cars, IIRC.

Hey, I remember that episode! I've watched this series - "Star Trek Enterprise" - on a cable channel a few years ago. I thought it was a cool series, don't understand why it got cancelled.

I like all the Star Trek series, most of the Voyager shows, but none of the Deep Space Nine show. I've tried twice to get into DS9, from show #1, and get bored with it. Did Mr. Roddenberry have anything to do with DS9?

I feel all warm and geeky all of a sudden!

The original "Star Trek" should've beat "Hawaii Five-0" as the most violent TV series of that era. After all, how many episodes were there in which someone didn't say "He/She/Its dead, Jim"???

In our place, when a piece of equipment fails, a not-infrequent comment is, "In the late 23rd century, someone would be saying, 'It's dead again, Jim"...

In this promo clip the video definitely doesn't fit the mask.

If they used a working set, it would have had to be modified to use 48 Hz scanning and 48 Hz video synchronized to the film camera would have to be supplied, to avoid shutter bars. This has been done for movies before, but I suspect it would be cheaper for a TV series to do a special effect.

I finished the Ep last night, I gotta say I loved this one, up there with City on the edge of Forever from the original series I think.

The set in the Bar does exhibit some rolling bars in the video, if it's a fake it's the best I've seen.

I got the feeling they were playing a little off of the "October Sky" story, poor but Intelligent Coal Miners Son has a Scholarship but no money to go to College.

That was funny (if unlikely) when T'Pol sold the guy the Velcro for cash on the spot.

That right there would alter Human history tremendously! Could we have gone to the Moon without Velcro?? (Remember Scotty bartering with Invisible Aluminum in STIV?)

I really don't know how I missed this show in it's first run, guess I figured it would be a lame retread.

Maybe I should move this thread to Movies & TV?

"City on the Edge of Forever" has to be one of the entire "Trek" franchises' BEST.

Was the "Goodnight, Sweetheart" song/theme a REAL song or just somethin' dreamed up for THAT particular show ? I thought it was BEAUTIFUL when I heard it 1st in 1967-68, & still do today...Asked my Mom, & she just shook her head, altho she woulda been 5 in 1930, when that show supposedly took place...Kinda hard to square that WE'RE farther out from "TOS" than THEY were from 1930 in '67-68, when it aired...
