A 10" GE B/W I have never seen before and a Sony KV9200 9" color for your consideration. Cheap fun.

The pix are from the listings. Not ready for prime-time photos here. The Sony is still in transit.

The GE is like new with it's odd, padded fake leather strap design. Model FA-410-TX. All SS. Pre-click full UHF. Carry strap is fine and there are two more strap rings that are not used. Not sure what they did. I think a shoulder strap is a bit much.

CRT is just below strong with a bit of audio buzz in the whites. Odd looking removeable power cord. 5 contacts. 2x3. 2 are the AC. Boy this thing is heavy. How about that, there is a Ni-Cad battery pack in the bottom the seller forgot to tell us about. The batts have more white powder than a Hollywood party. Now searching for 10 D-cells with solder tabs. All dead. And possibly a GE 12v car cord for the other three pins.

It would look great on top of your Hermes tack box at the Devon Horse Show while you lounge with a fine chardonnay at your eternal family farm horse stalls watching David Susskind.

I will add the Sony to this thread when it gets in.

Wow, that GE looks like it had to have been designed by the same guy who did their World Monitors. They'd look good sitting next to one another!

Great looking sets, very cute and CLEAN! That Sony is on my "wish list", it looks like it was never used as well.

The Sony arrived as advertised. Like new cabinet. Great focus. Very strong tube. July, 1975 date code on the back. Sharpness is a bit high but that must be an inside control. Take that all you flats. It is a heavy beast. Top controls and AFT that does a good job. Econoqick chassis. My digi cam does not do a good job so until I figure it out, my description will have to do.

It does have one small problem. The blue drive jumps up and down a bit. Just a bit. Not tragic but annoying. Sometimes a whack to the cabinet would do.

It also does leave a mysterious ion charge on the screen after shutoff. Two green glow spots just either side of center. Goes away after about two minutes or so.

I exercised the rear controls but no blue change. Next would be re-seat the CRT connector. I tried to open the back but after four screws I found four push-type plastic plugs around the edges of the back. They did not give to gentle pressure from a screwdriver and a kitchen knife. Don't want to damage any plastic so I gave up for now until you can give some hints on these. Never seen them before.

But it is not as good a pic as my 1983 GE Portacolor III (my name for a GE 10" SS of the day. My kitchen daily driver).

The GE has a much stronger RF and smoother pic and more accurate color and just as sharp. The Sony looks like it is working too hard to be a brilliant pic. The GE is just loafing along. Both are on the same feed. But I will still keep it.

Going upstairs to watch the end of Daytona on Sony CRT HD. The best.
