I have to clear this up. I am not buying and relying on sarcasm...especially Sandy who has promtly jumped in... to make us all laugh. Then again, who has the 50,000,001 set? And Sandy, you have to get to the ETF convention for all of us to wonder at your insights.

I can imagine bidding that much for David Sarnoff's personal 621TS (000001?) but not this.

The estimate on that page is much more realistic; I could see paying maybe $100 if I was really into RCA history and had plenty of money & space. I think the engraving, as nice as it is, would be kinda tacky considering it would be in the home of someone of his stature. I always kind of wonder just what models were used in the CEO's homes, were they in custom cabinets, did heads really roll when a tube or flyback blew?

....... I bet the 50,001th set does not have the emblem on it with the number, so this set is really unique..... you should get it. I can't remember ever seeing one of those sets on ebay before... ever. But I have seen lots of ctc 5's ct100's etc....
