The Today Show is sixty years old today; it debuted on January 14, 1952 to nearly universal hostile press and public indifference. However, with a little tweaking--adding a chimpanzee to the cast--it recovered and went on to be one of the longest running shows in the history of television. So raise a glass to Pat, Dave, Jim, Jack, and everyone else since then.
