ctc197 certain blue colors flicker

hi all, i have a ctc197 rca that i have repaired a few times over the years and recently when turning it on it has a nice picture and works fine but the first about 1 minute certain scenes with blue are flickering like a scan problem but im not sure. im just trying to maybe get a heads up on what this may be in the near future. its only blue colors and on the right side lower screen. anyone ever have something like this on another solid state set. the set is 15 years old but still works like the day it was bought but i have replaced 2 flybacks and 2- 2kv disc caps over 15 years thats it but something different here is happening. so when it goes bad or maybe befor it gets worse i would like to try to get something on it to go to. i dont have a schematic for it so ill be in the dark on this one, lol, lol.

Are you sure the CRT is not just getting old? I've seen a single color smear on newer sets as the tube ages. Mostly, I notice it's red that smears.

its really strange as it stopped doing this but the colors are as vivid as the day i bought this set and works just as good. maybe its the satellite service i have, sometimes the signal its lousy.

Mmmmm... Could be!

My satellite is crummy much of the time. The picture is so compressed and full of artifacts... I can get close to the screen and see how messy the image actually is.

I have a hard time picturing what you described, especially the combo of blue only and lower right only. Crossing fingers that it was temporary, but have no reason to think it was. If it is scan or HV, you might be able to make it recur by adjusting contrast and brightness to vary the load.

well the blue im talking about is in a picture with a blue part in it that may be surrounded by other colors would kind of flicker but faster then each second almost like a scan problem but it has stopped so maybe it was my service. but then again it is 15 years old so who knows and if i change settings it goes back to factory after turning of and back on again. so if it does it again ill try changing bright and contrast. the thing is it only did it for only about 40 seconds then it was gone for the day.
