Just picked up some radio broadcast equipment - Videokarma.org TV - Video

I just obtained some interesting items from a gentleman who used to own a radio station. He sold the station; but, still keeps up the equipment. The first item is a Broadcast Electronics 4-channel mono mixing console. It looks to be clean and is supposed to be working. He did replace the meter and he gave me the old meter.

The next item is a Sparta 3-speed rim drive broadcast turntable with a Shure M232 tonearm. Needs to be cleaned and overhauled. Does this look to be from the '60's? The tonearm needs a headshell; which, I hope I can find.

Next, we have a mono collins phono preamp. It has a switch to select between input one and input two (probably for turntables with two pick-up arms), and an EQ switch to select between RIAA, flat, high boost, and high cut. I'm guessing it to be from the '60's.

Last, we have a tapecaster cart machine. I have not opened it to see if it is tube or SS. I'd say it's also from the '60's. He also gave me a few carts to use with it.

If you need to, talk to Kent Tefteller over yonder-He seems to be the guru on Broadcast stuff, especially TTs.

Yep from the 60's early 70's the Tapecaster is solid state.

I believe I have a cartridge machine that uses the cartridges....I've never seen the carts before though.

The Tapecaster is early 1970's era, around 1972 vintage. Maintained a boatload of those machines. Low end but good and reliable. The Collins turntable preamp and the Sparta turntable and Shure tonearms are late 1960's era. The BE console is early 1980's.

Wonder what is on those tapes or if they are blank?

I picked up a boatload of those tapes when a local station went digital. Some pretty interesting stuff, lots of commercials and promos, tons of songs they had transferred on to carts. I sold the 90s music tapes on ebay and kept everything else. The cart machine I have isn't the greatest, mono only, but it was free as I recall.
