Zenith porthole combo in Evanston, IL

Price seems a little steep especially considering they admit the cabinet is rough.

It does seem steep. They seem to be fairly common. I forget what I paid for mine, but it was between $100-$150 with a CRT that tested excellent.

Mine was $175 with a crt that tested great and a raster. PO had already fired it up. Radio and phono worked too.

If that is a 12" CRT, it is the exact model I have, a G2958R. Mine cost $15 at an estate sale in Chicago around North and Clybourn Avenues in 1979-80. It had a tag on it "would make a great liquor cabinet". NOT!

The range of prices you guys paid is a great example of why it's hard to give a value to a set. The best answer I've heard to the question of value is that it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it

I'll add that I've paid somewhere between $0 and $200 for each of my sets.
