What can sub for a 21CXP4 CRT?

One of my favorite monochrome sets has a power off caused burn spot in the center of it's 21CXP4 CRT, and I would like to know which CRTs can sub for it.

Thanks.

The CRT must be in a Zenith set. The RCA 21DSP4 is a sub for it. It is a low G2 type so it is rarer than the normal 90 degree 21" CRT's.

Wow. I'm impressed that you knew it was a Zenith.
Thanks for the info.

Actually I was thinking of getting one from Bob if he had one(I now know he does), but it might end up eating my repcacement capacitor budget.

But I suppose I can get caps any time, and NOS CRTs don't appear that often(especially localy). So why not invest in a good picture. After all this kind opratunity doesn't come allong often. Besides I already have more in that Zenith than I'll ever get out, and I don't think I could be pursuaided to sell it anyway.

I'm presently surveying which CRTs my color sets use(those see far more use than my monochrome sets) so I can try to get a one-spare-fits-all for them. I'll be posting a thread on this soon.

Is there an easy way to install a spot killer circuit to prevent a recurrence of this problem?

I believe that I have an old electornics magizene that has an article on how to preform such modifications squirreled away somewhere, but I'll wait till I have a new CRT on hand before I try to locate it. I might try to add a DC restorer mod while I'm at it.
